Bone Broth a day keeps the Doctor Away.

Bone Broth a day keeps the Doctor Away.

Bone Broth.

I’ve been hearing about this fad for a while now. It really started when I gave birth about five months ago, and my mom came to help me. She’s all into this organic movement, and knowing where the source of your food comes from. Much respect by the way. Anyways, she was trying to get me onto the bone broth bandwagon, she took me to a fermentation farm and everything. At the time I was not in the mood, nor entertained, since I was taking care of a newborn. (If you want to skip the story and just read about the benefits be my guest).

Now fast forward to this past weekend, and let me tell you after this weekend I hoped onto the bandwagon. I saw the benefits of bone broth almost immediately. It started Friday, my five month old, went down with a really bad cough, and cold. Of course a first time mother I freaked out took him to the ER, the whole shebang. He’s alright by the way, just ended up being a case of the croup cough. Anyways I had to stay home from work Friday since he was sick, he was crying all day, every time he coughed, he was in pain, he stayed up all hours of the night. It was not fun, to say the least. My mom once again, all the way from Hawai’I pushing me to go get some bone broth, since I am still breastfeeding and she swore that the nutrients of the bone broth would go to him. Desperate at that point I got in the car with my crying, sick baby and went on search for some bone broth. By the way it’s amazing how many places now a days have fresh bone broth. You can also get boxed bone broth from Whole Foods, and even Vitamin Shoppe. I was lucky enough to find a place close to home that had fresh bone broth, and even a vegetable soup made with chicken bone broth. I got beef bone broth (because I like the flavor of it more so then chicken); and also the vegetable soup. Went home, ate the soup (around 6 that night) and drank it with some kombucha and prayed it’d help my son.

Now fast-forward 4 hours, I fed him, and trying to put him to sleep. I was really questioning if the bone broth would even work, he was still crying, even when I was carrying him, which is so unlike him. He was still in a lot of pain, and not feeling so great. At that point I completely forgot about the bone broth. He finally went down at 11pm. Now let me tell you, and remind you he’s five months old. He passed out. He didn’t wake up until the next day at 10 am. That’s 11 hours of sleep! I had to pump twice throughout which again is where I really saw the first benefits of bone broth. My milk supply increased almost immediately. When he woke up at 10am he was giggling, and happy. He didn’t cry the rest of the day, and he was back to normal. Minus the runny nose, and his cough (which got so much better). It wasn’t so horse, but a light cough; and it didn’t hurt him like it did the night before. He was no longer crying like he was in pain. I was amazed. Not only the clear results in him, but within myself as well. Needless to say I drank bone broth the rest of the weekend, made my own soup with it, with some cayenne pepper. Super yummy. And am going to buy some more today. I was able to drop him off at day care this morning, and with an 8 oz bottle of milk that I pumped this morning. Where before I could only get 3 oz if I was lucky.

And yes, I am a breastfeeding mom, some people may find it TMI, but I wanted to share because it just shows immediate results. You may be a guy, or a woman clearly not breastfeeding but you’ll see health benefits from it I can guarantee you of that. Not only did I see my milk supply increase, but also body cramps decrease, I woke up feeling refreshed, I also take Sleep-LTP (Talk to your health care provider if you’re breastfeeding or pregnant before taking). I just think bone broth is an amazing source of nutrients to add to your daily routine.

 Benefits of Bone Broth:

  1. Protects your joints, provides natural collagen
  2. It’s good for your gut! It contains gelatin that studies have been show to promote healthy inflammation levels in the digestive tract, and restore strength in your gut lining.
  3. Maintains healthy skin, collagen increases skin’s elastin which helps keeps skin’s youthful glow, texture, and appearance.
  4. Supports Immune System Function: Bone broth is one of the most beneficial foods to consume to restore gut health and therefore support immune system function and healthy inflammation response. Collagen/gelatin and the amino acids proline, glutamine and arginine help seal these openings in the gut lining and support gut integrity.
  5. Helps metabolism, and anabolism: Amino acids found in bone broth have numerous metabolic roles, including building and repairing muscle tissue, supporting bone mineral density, boosting nutrient absorption and synthesis, and maintaining muscle and connective tissue health.

In conclusion, bone broth is amazing. This past weekend made me a beliver. And believe me it’s going to be a daily intake for me. People say an apple a day? For me it’s not a cup of bone broth a day. J

P.S. I’ll be putting up the bone broth soup I made later this week! So yum!

Sleep-LTP vs Over the counter Sleep Aids

Sleep-LTP vs Over the counter Sleep Aids

In today’s fitness industry people want results, FAST. A lot of people do not pay attention to what they put in the body, nor are they educated on what is inside the products they use. We care, we want you to achieve your goals, and at the same time create products you feel good taking.

Having a good workout is essential. But sleep is one of the most important things for muscle growth and recovery. We are going to compare our product Sleep-Ltp with over the counter sleep aids.

Sleep-LTP vs Over the Counter Sleep Aids

Over the counter sleep aids, if taken consistently is one of the worst things you could do for your body and mind. When you take OTC Sleep aids you’re not really sleeping. It drastically alters the natural stages of your body’s sleep pattern. You stay in Non-Rem sleep when you take these OTC Sleep aids, which basically means you never go into a deep sleep (REM). It is not a restorative, deep sleep crucial for optimal health. When you take OTC Sleep aids you drug yourself, and have your eyes closed. You are swimming at the surface, versus deep sea diving (if you get what I’m saying). These OTC Sleep aids contain drugs like diphenhydramine HCL, diphenhydramine citrate, which are all antihistamines. Some OTC Sleep aids even contain painkillers. Acetaminophen (a common painkiller) is one of the most common poisonings worldwide.

Here are some short-term/ long-term effects:

  1. Addiction
  2. Withdrawal
  3. Nausea
  4. Vomiting
  5. Constipation
  6. Rash
  7. Weight gain, and increased appetite or the reversed effect.
  8. Headaches
  9. Liver failure
  10. Morning hangover
  11. Daytime drowsiness and fatigue, which leads to poor performance.
  12. Brain damage

Now what’s the alternative? Sleep-Ltp!

So here’s the thing, all our products are all natural, clean supplements. Made with vegetarian capsules, no artificial colors, sweeteners, or flavors. They are Non-Gmo, and most importantly BSCG certified. Now a quick lesson, when looking at a product to see if it’s good for you take a look at the supplement facts. In other ingredients, if it has fewer then 4 ingredients most likely it’s a pretty good supplement (of course depends what those ingredients are), when it has more than 10 ingredients listed you’re in trouble.

Sleep-LTP uses plant-based ingredients to achieve deep REM sleep unlike OTC Sleep aids. It’s the only ZMA nighttime product on the market to support body & brain recovery. Also a hangover free formula unlike OTC Sleep aids.

Here is a deeper look into the ingredients:

  1. Zinc & Magnesium (ZMA) helps replenishes muscles, supports a sense of calm, and enhance night time recovery. Zinc is an essential mineral with antioxidant properties. Zinc has been found to be crucial for protein synthesis, which leads to muscle growth and recovery. Magnesium promotes function of the cardiovascular system, bone health, and metabolic rate. Zinc and Magnesium together enhance muscle size, strength, and even fat loss. Not to mention overall health and well being crucial for a good night’s rest.
  2. Vitamin D3, Folate, and Vitamin K to support immunity, mood, and vitality.
  3. Chamomile, Mucuna Puriens, Melatonin to promote relaxation, calm, and restful sleep. Chamomile doesn’t just help with a deep sleep, but also an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti- cancer.

In conclusion, we hope this read was educational, and you can take away several points from this. Our goal, and mission statement “we strive to empower & strengthen consumers through premium, natural, and powerful nutritional supplements.” We care what you put in your body!
